Jordan Valley (George) is a 9-year-old 15.2h Thoroughbred gelding. He is a lovely mover with an honest, scopey jump. On the flat he catches the dressage judges eye with his flashy trot and consistent, relaxed connection. Over fences George is incredibly careful and brave with lead changes each way. He goes in a rubber, happy mouth bit in all three phases.
George has also foxhunted in all three flights. This fun, safe, and straightforward boy is an easy ride and wants to please. He is the complete package for an adult amateur or junior rider.
Asking $12,500

In case you haven’t heard, Katie and Mr. Indiscretion (“Trip”) had a great weekend at the Fair Hill International April Horse Trials (held in Elkton, MD). The pair finished 11th in the CIC2* and Katie was thrilled with how Trip went and only seconds away from placing in the top ten. Way to go Katie & Trip!
Missed out on Katie’s latest clinic? Check out what one of the participants had to say:
“Katie’s clinic the day before the horse trials was so helpful for me and my mare. At the event at Loch Moy, I drew from Katie’s great advice: rhythmically ride the hind end, show-jump the fences to keep my mare Empress in a package, and funnel the tempo and energy forward and upward throughout.
With the clinic schooling under my belt the day before, the morning of the show I was actually able to look forward to competing, as opposed to battling my usual butterflies! It was a great day in large measure because of Katie’s helpful clinic. A huge thank you to Katie. She is an awesome instructor!” -Louisa
What a great weekend for Katie and her students! On Saturday, she taught a “mini-clinic” at Loch Moy and everyone had fun while learning. On Sunday, she competed Absolute Addiction, aka “Gus,” in the Novice-D division at the Maryland Horse Trials starter #2 and finished in 2nd on a dressage score of 24.50! Baby Gus is really coming into his own.
Also, some of Katie’s students competed as well and did great:
Kristen Motz rode Spring Hollow Merlot and finished 9th in Novice-C.
Dominique Guimond (one of her clinic riders) rode Astar and was 9th in Junior Novice-B. Jill Mikash rode Harvey and was 5th in Beginner Novice-C. Sabrina Morris riding Allouette finished 4th in Preliminary/Training and rode BFF Cypher finishing 13th in Beginner Novice-C.
Also, another clinic rider Louisa Woodville, finished 6th in Beginner Novice-C with her mare, PL Lucky Empress.
Nice job everyone!
This past weekend, Katie competed at The Fork Horse Trials in North Carolina and did well! She and Mr. Indiscretion (“Trip)” competed in the CIC2* division and placed 12th out of over 25 riders, with only two rails in show-jumping and a little time on cross-country. It seems that Trip is getting into the swing of things again and we are excited for their next competition!
Also, Katie and everyone at Katie Wherley Equestrian, sends their condolences to all of those people who were connected to Andrew/Powderhound and Will/Conair. Our thoughts are with you.
